ARTIST STATEMENT
Marina Ogneva (b. in 1980) is a self-taught nature photographer but has been shooting professionally for more than thirteen years now. She is a member of the Russian Union of photography artists and the EURASIA Association of Photographers. Winner and laureate of the largest Russian and International photo contests. Originally hailing from Kyrgyzstan, she is currently based in Krasnoyarsk region (Siberia).

In her artistic practice Marina Ogneva turns to nature as a complex space for inner dialog, self-reflection and meditation. Using landscape photography and graphics as complementary mediums, she emphasizes the metaphorical nature of images, their ability to transform emotions and create a connection between personal experience and universal themes. Her works are built on the belief that landscape photography is not only an object of contemplation, but also a powerful tool of harmonization that connects intellect, emotional sensitivity and physical engagement.
The author creates images that transcend documentation. It is an act of visual comprehension where compositional dynamics, the interaction of light and shadow, the richness of textures and plastic forms become the basis for expressing different states of nature. Her landscapes transform perception, immersing the viewer in reflection, returning to the meaning of pauses in the rapid rhythm of life and awakening a sense of belonging to nature.

Marinа Ogneva feels comfortable shooting in both color and B&W photography. She sees photography as a complex synthesis of artistic expression and therapeutic practice, allowing her to explore the boundaries between the inner and the outer, the personal and the universal, the temporal and the eternal.

Professionally, she has been working in web/digital design, marketing, PM and copywriting for more than 17 years.
